Lihir Testing of samples for reactivity with ammonium nitrate as AEISG Code of Practice “Elevated Temperature and Reactive Ground” Appendix 2: Isothermal Reactive Ground Test

Conducted For - Newcrest
Requested By - Darren Francis
Report Number - GC3-10-16
Written By - Dr G. Cavanough
Date - 10th October, 2016.  Test Conducted from 3rd to 10th October 2016

Information Supplied

Sample ID: GeoChem 002
Location: Lihir, PNG
Rock type: NA
Sample Location:

Comments:  Sample tested to 100°C and testing comprised of a sample with weathering agent only added, a sample with weathering agent and ammonium nitrate and a sample with a supplied inhibited product.

Test Result:

*Marginal for Inhibited Product, Reaction for Ammonium Nitrate

*<2°C Temperature excursion and not able to determine if reaction occurred from image - retest recommended
